Book Week!

Posted by: Mr Alderdice | March 7, 2010 | 3 Comments |

As it is book week in school at the moment, and we are all involved in lots of book related activities, I thought it would be nice to share some of your favourite books with each other.

One of my favourite books is Peter Pan by J.M Barrie. I remember reading it when the film Hook came out (I was about your age then) and thinking it was absolutely fantastic! I haven’t read it for a long time, so maybe we can use it as a class novel.

Dear Year 3

I liked your photos of book week. I wonder what activities you did during your week?

We have just had our visiting author, Sara Holbrook, visit our school. She is an amazing poet.

This coming week we are having a book week too. We will begin on Monday with a theme of ‘curl up with a good book’, so guess what?! We get to wear our pyjamas to school! It’s one of our favourite days of the year.

We have different themes each day. Can you guess what we’re wearing on Wednesday? (St. Patrick’s Day)

Hello from Michigan, USA!

I’ve just stumbled upon your blog and it looks like so much fun! I see that you have a good collection of author websites. Our school celebrates March Is Reading Month! We participate in whole school reading activities in fun, thematic ways.
