Viking Weapon Names

Posted by: | April 13, 2010 | 36 Comments |

Weapons were very important to the Vikings. Often, Viking warriors would be buried with their sword by their sides, and somtimes weapons were passed down through families as an important heirloom. The Vikings were so attached to their weapons that they even gave them names such as, leg biter and peace breaker.

Why not use the table below to think of your own Viking weapon names. Simply choose a body part, and then add a powerful verb.

Body part Powerful verb
Neck Slicer
Shin Carver
Gut Smasher
Eye Tearer
Head Ripper

If you like, you can use your own ideas as well.

Our geography topic is Village Settlers, and we have been discussing why early settlers chose to live in certain areas.

To answer our big question, we need to know why people settled in Chorlton in particular.

Before we answer that question, I want to know;

What is great about living in Chorlton?

Meet Xzrtle!

Posted by: | February 8, 2010 | 25 Comments |

Hello everyone, meet Xzrtle, a new visitor to our blog. As you might have guessed, Xzrtle has come a long way to visit us, so let’s do our best to make him welcome!

More than anything else, Xzrtle really wants to be a human. I thought we could help him out by giving him some instructions on how to do human things.

Why not try giving Xzrtle instructions on how to do some everyday human things? You could teach him how to make toast, how to eat dinner, how to put a pair of trousers on, how to brush his teeth. It really is up to you.
I am sure Xzrtke will love learning from you!

Crossing the river…

Posted by: | January 28, 2010 | 97 Comments |

This is a game we have played in class before, so I am expecting some imaginative and original ideas.

How do you get across the river? You cannot use a boat! That is too easy!

Here is an example to start you off, but I am sure you can think of something better:

I can use an overhanging branch from a tree to catapult myself to the other side.
